Our Short History
HOW OUR SMALL RESTAURANT BEGAN
For some time now Daniel Cook and I have been working on what the next chapter of our life was going to look like.
With me wanting to concentrate on my research, university lecturing, and my alternative therapies and Dan loving his horticulture work we decided to move in a totally different direction which we believe will lead us on our future pathway.
Finding ourselves under the weather at the end of 2016 we travelled to see an amazing homeopath named Shirley Lovell in a country town named Daylesford, where for the first time in a while we felt lighter.
For lunch that day we stopped in at a beautiful, ambient restaurant in refurbished house built in 1864. The food was delicious and the range of wines delectable; all from local producers. Ah, heaven. We had always talked about opening a wine bar; as some of you will know we have a voracious appetite for both food and wine and consider ourselves fussy foodies. To cut a long story short; the restaurant was for sale and when we met the incredible man behind the glorious food, it looked like the universe was giving us a nudge in a new and exciting direction. So, here we are the owners of an iconic restaurant in regional Victoria, where we are building on a decade and a half of quality food and service to offer our own spin on Tapas. If you are in our neck of the woods, I urge you to drop in and sample the exquisite tastes from Richard Mee and his extraordinary team of food artisans, paired with a wine from a list of over 100from across the region and beyond.
We pride ourselves on scrumptious food, delectable wines and impeccable service, and do hope you can visit soon.
